Social Media

Fun with Social Media

Written by Abigail Mitchell on .

Should your business use social media? Take Facebook for example, in 2018 it was estimated that 2.45 billion people actively use Facebook on a monthly basis. And that’s just Facebook! With a multitude of Social Media platforms out there to choose from, each with its own merits and vast user bases, it seems that any business in the 21st century can’t afford to miss out on the opportunities social media has.

Of course, the problem is, many businesses don’t know how to use these channels and, in some ways, can have an innate fear of them.

What’s the solution? There are several ways to look at it; you could pay an expert. Hiring the help for an agency can be a great way to approach your social media. Make sure you find an agency that sets clear goals and targets with you, with timelines and calendars and fully agreed parameters.

Maybe you’re not yet in a position to hire outside for your Social Media. In which case you will have to roll up your sleeves and go it alone for the time being. The good news is there is a wealth of resources out there to get you going, including videos and tutorials on YouTube.

Authenticity

Be authentic. One of the key points to good Social Media is authenticity. Make your content personably and real. Don’t try to be someone or something you’re not. Establish the voice of your business, then have fun talking about what you’re doing and what the business is up to. Nowadays we all have hi-tech devices in our pockets, so it’s not difficult to take pictures that meet a decent standard for Social Media.

Engagement

The sign that your work on Social Media is working out is Engagement. What’s meant by Engagement is the amount of people who interact with your Social Media output. How many likes, shares and comments you get on your posts.
